“It’s my job to balance and stretch the budget,” she says. “The bills would just stack up, because it wasn’t something I wanted to do. I hated to balance the checkbook–because it took so long, it just wouldn’t get balanced. I needed something to make managing our finances easier to do and to get me to do them more often.”

He finished his degree over six years, because he took time off to intern for the Walt Disney Company in Orlando, and Levy Restaurants in Detroit. (Levy manages food service in major sporting venues, including Ford Field, where the Detroit Lions play.)

Twenty-nine-year old Francisco R., a research and science manager with a vitamin and supplements company, is passionate about politics. In 2009 he decided to run for a part-time state office in Florida --- and credits Mvelopes.com with helping him locate the funds to finance his campaign. “It’s allowed me to do bigger things that I’m passionate about,” he says.

Bill is a teacher and Elizabeth is a youth minister, and they have two daughters, 15 and 13. “We had the conviction starting off that we would never live above our means,” he says. “We wanted to be able to use the resource God provided to really bless others.”

Helen and her husband Bob began buying, fixing up and flipping houses in central Florida in 2002. They used credit cards to finance the home repairs, and then paid off that debt when the house sold. Helen says the business did well in the beginning, but by 2006, everything started to unravel.

Rich, a high school teacher, and his wife Jodi, a photographer, have six children, ages 9 to three months. That means time and money are at a premium. “It goes down directly to our value system and what’s important to us,” says Rich. “As a teacher, I knew I wasn’t ever going to have a major surplus of money. It was important to my wife and I that she stays home with the kids. In order for that to happen, we had to be deliberate about counting pennies and managing money in the best way we can.”
